Q: How long does it take to install Steel Door Armor?
A: Under normal circumstances it should take less than 30 minutes
to install a standard Door Armor unit.
Q: How many people are required to install Steel Door Armor
components?
A: We designed Steel Door Armor to be installed by one person.
Q: What tools are required to install Steel Door Armor?
A: Phillips head screwdriver,or a variable speed drill.
Q: What should I do if my door closes very tightly before
installing Steel Door Armor?
A: You will need to find the cause and ensure you will be able
to close the door or correct this once Steel Door Armor is
installed. Adjust the shim thickness behind the jamb and use
the screws to pull the jamb and increase the spacing between
it and the door slab. If the door is binding because it is
not true in the frame then this problem must be corrected before
attempting Steel Door Armor installation.
Q: What style doors was Steel Door Armor designed for?
A: Steel Door Armor was designed for steel or solid slab, hinged
entry doors with wooden frames. We currently do not make
a model that will work on French doors or doors with sidelights,
however we are working on these applications.
Q: Do I need to remove the whole door to install Steel Door
Armor ?
A: No, it is not necessary to remove the entire door or even
the door slab. Steel Door Armor was designed to make installation
as easy as possible.
